Three Things Incredible

Inside a Sears store, at age 14, I stopped to stare, with others there, in awe. . . A dream achieved was on a TV screen: Man’s first walk on the moon is what we saw. Two decades passed, and I, then 35, had lived thus far to see a mighty fall - A celebration broadcast world-wide live: The Cold War’s end; down came the Berlin Wall. Born when the fight for Civil Rights began, I’ve seen folks hated for their darker skin. When I was 53, a black man ran for president; the whole world saw him win! Three things incredible in history I’ve seen, which fan the flame of hope in me! For Brian Strand's A JEWEL IN YOUR CROWN any theme/form max 14 lines Poetry Contest

You were submitting roughly 2 sonnets per week back in April 2010! I find your volume and quality amazing, though with over 500 sonnets to your name, I'm not at all surprised at how frequently they flow out of your gifted pen. This is another gem, with your 3 incredible historic events being recounted. P.S. I also love that you are not ashamed to share your age! I find that a very winsome trait.

What I really like about this is EVERYONE experienced these things...well, those who were alive at the time. And every one of these are truly amazing things to see happen. Great job in this one, Andrea.

What a great response to Amy's challenge! You stepped outside of yourself, Andrea, and I love your sonnet. Such amazing memories you cite. As for Survivor, I am not liking the direction it's taking. Russell is a scoundrel. I'm still pulling for Crystal on Idol. Love, Carolyn
