The New Normal

Spring oaks and a cool wind, the evening dark mysterious, after a month indoors. Miniature in the forest of trees. Magnanimous largesse of the outdoors world given to me — I close my eyes and take a walk before I lock myself inside 4/16/2020

This new "norm" feels unlike any kind of norm I ever wanted to experience in my life time. Yesterday I discovered my oldest daughter did not have a mask; we ran over there and put one in her mailbox, knocked and ran like the wind. (Me - my husband sat in the car). She ran out after me and we ended up having supper together in her driveway sitting 12 feet apart. I guess now they are advising 28 feet apart. WHAT?

Wow, really! (About 28 feet apart). Glad you spent some time with your daughter. I don’t like this new normal not even one little bit...this Sam I am this Sam I am (ref. Dr. Seuss) I want to go back to reading and writing poetry but am stuck reading books for the library (not ones I want to) Love ya, my friend!

Hello Kim, oh it is hard to stay indoors this long period of time. Yet it is hared on everyone. I keep hoping that this will end. To be back to normal again. Be safe. Enjoy your day my fiend.

The rareness of the experience makes it all the more valued. Beautifully succinct but expressive verses, Kim. Well done.

Ah, how sad it is that we do just that dear friend. I'm longing for the day when we can socialize with nature longer, and people too. Take care , stay healthy, and patient. xo

Love the poem, and it's time to protest Lockdowns! Michigan started....Wisconsin has two coming up. Not my state. We love being enslaved to Newsom and our constitutional rights trampled to pieces. Not me! I am livid...... far from a pacifist. Hence. My latest poem The Ghetto is Liberty! Remember what they did to the Jews! Panagiota xx

Yes, we have to end this. It's been a month. After a while, it is control. No one wants to see people die but they do die in so many other ways. The kids are missing their friends, playing on the playground. Grands are missing their grandkids. We should at least begin to open up safe areas.

but you are not alone Kim. Stay safe, stay in. Regards Julie

I just could not believe I had not stepped outside in a whole month (at night) and many days.

Beautiful description of a pleasant and serene spring night, in the days of COVID-19.
