The Longest Night

Our last night bleeds into the first
Your eyes still pierce the darkness deep within
That hides in child's embarrassment
The smile that blurs the perception of your face
Your touch so tender but makes me feel the all
Memories of the past blazon this torrid night
And as I gently hold myself
I pull the scent and sound inward
never to let go
Seconds fall into moments
And moments comfort woes
The days and years have deadened
but time is halted
here within my tears
