The Grizzly Details

all the grizzly details of a serial killer’s spree spanning years, maybe even decades weaving a detailed map of artistic carnage throughout the world just beneath the surface of our pathetic attempts at establishing order amidst the chaotic nature of our true accidental being as products of a random evolutionary process, say something about us to ourselves when we hear them--- some tremble at the thought of what some humans can do, as they are exemplified in the media as the worst possible examples of our species & the supposed morality police preaches that such behavior is an abnormality, while in the same breath, they speak of the sons & daughters on the front line in a war in which hundreds of thousands of people you will never meet have been slaughtered in the name of an unrenewable resource for which many alternatives have already been discovered, though the vultures who feed on the carcasses of those sacrificed for oil will not budge until every last drop is gained & sold for a profit--- such is the human condition in our present moment--- and war veterans come back to find worse treatment by the police force at home, finding that the opportunities which had been promised them when they enlisted, just ain’t the reality now--- so many decide to stop watching the news, many decide to stop reading the papers, many decide to stop talking with their friends about what is happening & dwell only in the little cocoon carved out for themselves, as if it will last forever--- ah, the grizzliest of details.
