this was written in response to "the law of diminishing returns". As in the numbers of poets commenting and responding here on the soup. Perhaps it has to do with the growth of the site and the overwhelming number of poems posted.
and so as leaves
fleeing Fall’s frailty
they scatter on the wind
poems
blowing blindly
down silent streets
words
shouting
in moonless darkness
thoughts
blinking
in refocused rant
metaphors
meandering
through melancholy
alliteration
arguing against
ages angst
keyboards
mocking the scratching
of pens
fingers
reaching out
caressing words
baiting
a trap
for idle eyes
warming
the tea
of time.
