Gaze out to sea upon blown rig and sail in our fright’s strand on stormwatch to the south, heed the mighty whirlwind, its scything trail - Galleon’s Passage to the Serpent’s Mouth. See the bended trees on coconut row when lightning fork flashing turns night to day - let it sunder, let it rage, let it blow across river and swamp in Cocos Bay. When away are cattle jittery led and heron, egret, crane, and frigate bird take flight for cover when all else have fled till a cockcrow at early dawn is heard. When eerie is the billfish feeding ground and missing are the pelicans stormbound. Written: July 1996 Trinidad & Tobago.

I enjoyed reading your "Stormbound" write. I love your 2 pictures. Wish I was walking on the beach & drinking from a coconut. Have a blessed day writing away................

Thanks for that image. Haven’t drank from a coconut in nearly 40 years. Cheers.

It is a poem that has a heavy weather presence with a tropical backdrop. Trinidad &Tobago were brought into my living room with this poem.

I remember the storms that would roll in as a kid. They both scared and excited me. Thanks Hilda.

I used to do a lot of good things but such is life. Now I’m just a bitter and twisted old curmudgeon. Wait, did I say that out loud?

Live in Qld now. Have done for 27 years. The old Trinidad has lots of memories but that’s all that’s left for me now. The island now is not the place I remember. Cheers.
