Smiles Always Return

You choose Poetry Contest Brian Strand She flies with her own wings Smaller or bigger than others It really doesn't matter to her She has her own colorful dreams Some unseen, maybe once told But, it isn't up to those watching She works through hours, then fun Some things make her stand and watch Some things make her take off and run She loves deeply, loss hurts just as deep Many times picking herself up, fallen again Patching up hurting parts, a body takes a toll But smiles always find a way to return Reflecting from.pools of tears to be seen Light will always become the healing factor - in a world that turns a pallet black - 1/18/24

I love how your poem celebrates the resilience and individuality of the protagonist, who is depicted as someone unburdened by societal expectations. The metaphor of flying with her own wings suggests a sense of independence and self-determination. The line, "Smaller or bigger than others, It really doesn't matter to her," conveys a powerful message of self-acceptance, emphasizing that the protagonist is not defined by external comparisons...
