From the outnumbering, overpowering and overwhelming obstacles,

of (twenty, twenty) an unwinding year,

uncontrollably unraveling like vintage thread

that has been aimlessly

and loosely spun,

along the

spool

~ Surely ~

silent situations

found you frantic,

like a record unreasonably

repeating a clever, creative classic,

as they curled me courageously too

. . Somehow, you have continued to, Shelter Me

Hi Brandy, this is the kind of artistic expression we would be missing out on if you were not given the opportunity to share your scribbles in the font and color of your choice. This is such a gorgeous shape poem and a wonderful message of optimism... The first half describes a really bad year and the second half presents hope and shelter. Loved the alliterations, the metaphor of the thread/spool, and the image of a record "repeating a clever, creative classic". Sometimes listening to classics of music snap me out of a funk. I know you enjoy listening to the "oldies" too, as you have written beautifully about them. But also I feel as though this could be taken as a love poem to the friends at Soup who have been a shelter through the stormy years we have had to endure. My dear, sweet friend, I am always inspired by your poetry and encouraged by your lovely comments. Thank you ~ John

John, first of all: The support given with how I present my poetry, using this stylish font and the many color choices, is greatly appreciated. (Many thanks). Second: This poem speaks for the entire world and all we have been through, with this nasty virus. We have hope, through kindness and strength. (Smiling at you). Yes, I love listening to the *oldies". Classical music. I'm so happy that you enjoyed the - - alliterations and metaphors - - within this scribble of mine. In a sense, this is a love poem. We all need shelter in times of need. So true. Thank you, my dear sweet friend, for your beautiful comment. Your thoughts caress softly around me and my heart. :) Hugs, Brandy

most creative writing, Brandy. And I too wondered how you got the cool font. I guess it takes understanding one's computer (which will never happen for me)

Love that image of the thread on the spool... (I'd say that it makes me drool, but how foolish that would be). Here's to a better 2021! Season's Joy, Gershon
