reservoir stock low hosepipe ban comes into force dark clouds are looming The ban comes into force today ... the irony is we live on a little Island surrounded by sea (alas we do not have a desalination plant)! 8/3/18

If anyone is suffering from a drought this summer, then come to New Jersey, USA. We have had much more rain than we need this season. Good write.

Water, water everywhere, and not a drop to drink! The irony and pity of it all. Thank you for raising the alert!! ~ Gershon

A powerful and meaningful haiku, Jan. Jack has told me of the drought. I pray England gets much-needed rain. When we have long droughts here, plants die and wildfires spread. It's a shame your island is being affected too. Desalination is a costly endeavor, but it has become necessary now. Superior writing, my friend. (Thanks for your kind comments.) Sending love, Carolyn

And Florida is experiencing record rainfall. If only we could share some of that water with those who need it.

Wow that's low Jan, although we love the warm weather a bit of rain doesn't go amiss. Everywhere looking really dry here, no ban yet. You'll have to get up at 04.00 to water your flowers lol. Tom

lol Tom no way could I pay a £1000 fine - will use my water butts which were filled with rain and tap water and then use my watering can when those run dry. We have had rain recently but no where near enough and the dry spell is set to continue next week. Our food prices will rocket but so be it. :-) hugs jan xx
