I noticed a contest here about one ofmy favorite celt *heros* pirates, Captain Henry Morgan, but the style wanted for the competition did not include sonnets, and that is what I write in, so here is one I alwready did a coupla years ago, I think I wrote about 5 about this bloodthirsty pirate, whom I am only guessing might even have been a distant relative via the Arbuthnots. doing a little checking into that, there seems to be a paper trail going there... if anyone has any information or date, I would appreciate reading it. MUTINY ON THE SPANISH MAIN
Avast ye scum, ye've backed me to the wall
and evil's all I see there in yer eyes;
but I won't hesitate to meet the call
to fight if I must fight, so realize

that what yer comin to is yer own choice
to spend the rest of life, because of me,
just swingin in the wind, if I've a voice
the king will listen to, tho dead I be.

Altho a tyrant, he still makes yer way
and feeds the whores you want so much to see
so let's remember where we are today
so's we can get to where we want to be.

Lay down yer arms, ye've got a Judas here,
and he's the greatest thing ye've got to fear.
