and suddenly no trace of you to be found
can it be that you have vanished
erased etchings in the sand
   the tide of time ruthless
leaving my heart of stone beached
   like a distraught whale
  weary and life depleted
while echoes of yesterday still resonate
fading into the distance
of love gone awry
   silenced by the endless waves
that called your name in vain

Dear line, wow this left me in awe! I just love the evocative nature of your poem as well as the wordplay here is so creative. And fitting for the picture youv used too. I would love to use that picture for a poem on insta. Its gorgeous , and the oceanic metaphors is cleverly woven here, I especially love “ leaving my heart of stone beached like a distraught whale weary and life depleted” that hits so deep as well the ending! A fave for me this is! Pleasure reading your work
