Most Stunning Love Poem
Hand me a pen so that I may write the most stunning
love poem in the world.
Hand me the most luxurious paper so the writing appears
elegant and well placed.
Let the words flow from my mind, animate the pen so
the paper absorbs to its fullest and capture exquisitely,
phrases of magnificence.
Allow me to ogle lovers’ lane, congested hilltops with
two-seaters, convertibles, and love bugs.
Bring back the walks in the park minus the stalker, prowler,
and exhibitionist.
Take a rowboat drift on a secluded lake until dew falls or
dawn approaches.
I’ll give you a love poem that surpasses Adam and Eve.
Where is the love of Romeo or Juliet, so gallant, lost in
Shakespeare among procreations.
Conjure up lovers of ancient Rome and Egypt, the nations
of great lovers.
Capture the romance of Sir Lancelot and Guinevere,
let it filter through present generations.
Sing a ballad under the blackened heaven, while guitar
strings light the stars of romance.
Bring me posies of every hue with the fragrance of passion
till my heart aches with desire.
Woo me with tenderness, so I look at no other.
Flirt with those dark eyes and long lashes locking a bond
for eternity.
Sit with me on the porch swing, on a spring eve, hypnotized
by the moon and shooting stars.
Hold me close with our heads touching as if we are one.
Take me for walks down a deserted country road, amid
innocence of nature.
Converse expressions proclaiming love, avow the affair to
continue with a touch of antediluvian romance.
