Monday Blessings
“This is the day which the LORD hath made;
we will rejoice and be glad in it.”*
With that verse from the Holy Scriptures,
I would like to acquaint you fully with myself:
I’m Monday, a God-ordained special period
in the Supreme Providence time-table,
which your calendar grandly presents
often with a royal blue color every week and month.
I’m Monday, cheering you up…
offering to you limitless opportunities
to enjoy, explore, and yes, experience to the fullest
every God-granted hour for you within my sphere.
Keep smiling as I enumerate transforming ways
for your Monday triumphant drives now and onward
against the varied dreary and gloomy labels attached to my name:
adrenaline-rush, momentum-pressure, hectic schedule, to mention a few.
First, as you awake, be grateful to the Creator that you’re alive…
…and that the oxygen you’re breathing in is free;
that you had a sweet sleep; and that you’re strength is restored.
Second, ask for the supreme Director to guide you
as you rehearse what you've planned to do with, thru and with me.
Since, I’m Monday, I do set the pace for your whole week's success;
So guidance from the wise Counselor is a must to beg for
While entrusting to Him your whole day’s affair with me.
Third, be pro-active thru the power of the great Helper
As you optimize your might in multi-tasking:
doing your job well, dealing with people kindly, deciding prudently.
Fourth, fulfill my seconds’ demands with peace and joy
Which some ignore and neglect; so they’re stressed, then burned-out…
Fifth, be warned with “Monday-sickness” that can bring you down
so let your physical and spiritual immune system prevail over viruses
thru the Sustainer’s aid with His healing touch of contentment.
Sixth, you feel you’re tired? Then, rest…
Delight in the fruits of your labor along God’s blessings’ bounty;
Dine festively whatever is your viand…
Laugh out loud with childhood mirth.
Seventh, and the next… keep maximizing my minutes…
Reach out to others with love; continue with the good work!
Take note, this is Monday “which the LORD hath made;
…rejoice and be glad in it.”
The next day, Tuesday and onward, do the aforementioned
with increased faith in the Lord Who enables everyday jubilation
for His honour.
*Psalm 118:24 This is the day which the LORD hath made; we will rejoice and be glad in it.
