Love Impasse

I am not ashamed to say it— I revisit you—perhaps because you discarded me and you meant something to me. But do I blame? No—I should have seen where there was an easy exit— and perhaps it was me that discarded you. I am not sure of simple things anymore. All I am sure of is that I love you— and have loved you. but I could never give you all of me and risk it all not knowing to whom your heart belonged. Even though you are silent as death now I feel you deeply and I feel I mean something to you—but my dilemma is that I am unsure of you and all I know is that I inflicted pain just as I feel pain from you. And I have done what I could to resurrect the death between us— not that a simple talk could mend what is already broken.

Absolutely wonderful poem with in-depth meaning…profound with passion and lovely and quite sad at the same time!

OMG, it sounds like mi marriage (lol) 45 years and still going. All relationships can be troublesome. When we have feelings for someone, they never really go away as far as I can tell, and you have put this concept to poetry so tenderly and realistically. You are awesome, and any person missing that fact is a dumb ass!!!

I tend revisit those who have caused me the most pain—it is almost an addiction of sorts, but poetry helps me release those feelings in a healthy, cathartic way. I appreciate your candidness and your sweetness. ~Laura
