Like Dewdrops
If I had ears to hear without anything to fear, would I listen to your heart, to all of you from the start?
If I could talk, what might I say?
Would I say "Hello", and melt away? Or, "Goodbye. I didn't come to stay". Would I descend on plants, grasses, and crops, and depart in drops?
If I were blessed with eyes to see, would I stalk you from a stalk of corn? Or would
I embrace you as gently as a newborn?
I am a Dewdrop, like melting ice cycles from rooftops; Dewdrops, like drops of sweat from the cheeks of the sweaty; Dewdrops, there's nothing strong about me, but I am faithful and steady. Dewdrops, Like the slow-dropping tears from the eyes of the broken hearted; Dewdrops, when just before the morning light, with the day, I break through the night. Moreover, if I were your friend, like faithful Dewdrops, I'd linger and listen to you and be there to weep with you.
A world without faithful Dewdrops and rain leaves a planet in pain. The earth also needs Dewdrops that work at early dawn for our gain. Like faithful Dewdrops, I'd come at the height of the morning cool. I'd create water like small drops of rain to cool and still your troubled and heated soul. If I were your friend, I'd come faithfully to aid and assist a friend in need before the rising of the sun.
