Let Them See the Sun
Darkness surrounds me.
I sense movement.
My mother is taking me somewhere.
Worry enters my thoughts, but is quickly pushed out.
I trust her.
I trust her.
Darkness surrounds me.
I sense more movement.
My mother is walking quickly.
I hear muffled shouting.
I trust her.
I trust her.
Darkness surrounds me.
the sounds are gone. All is silent.
My mother is still walking somewhere.
I trust her.
I trust her.
Darkness surrounds me.
My mother is laying on something now.
A loud noise crashes through the silence.
I trust her.
I trust her.
Light comes breaking through the darkness.
Is this it, I wonder?
The moment I’ve been waiting for?
Will I finally see the sun?
I trust her.
I trust her.
Darkness surrounds me.
All I feel is pain.
I am helpless.
I am hurting.
I am dying.
I trusted her.
I trusted her.
