Jeremiah chapter thirty five k j v
The Lord is faithfull.!
Thesselonians ch 3 v 3-5
Jerimiah in the midst of the rebbelious people, had taken
Note of a sobdrly clad 'new group to his awareness' he made
Enquiry at the market stalls, and was told by zephunnah the
Bread seller, they lived in a tented encampment on the edge
Of the kidron approach to the city, intruiged he went down to
Know more.? After a short journey he arrived at the first tents
And a young man happened to be sitting in the front opening of one
He smiled and nodded as Jeremiah approached, he intruduced
Himself a Simeon, and offered sustenance and water, its an
Honour to receive you may peace be upon you He ventured,
And you Jerimiah replied, as he sat upon a low rock, the young
Man called into the tent Hannah' bring water for our guest quite
Soon a young girl emerged and approached Jeremiah, with a wooden
Bowl, he took it saying may God bless you Hannah.' She smiled shyly
And turned making her way back inside, I came here to speak with
Your elders Jeremiah said leaning on the highly polished staff the sign
Of his authourity, oh of course there will be my uncles not far'
I shall bring them, Jeremiah nodded in aggrement, after the young
Man left he considered how to approach his goal.? which as always
Was discening thd will of the Lord, he supposed it best to offer them
His welcome to the temple.? And strong wine from what he knew of
This group of his people descended from the Kenites of the line
Of Moses.. They had foresworn intoxicating drink and ostentation of
All types..' Now Jeremiah wondered? Would they be overawed by the
Setting and offering from an authority figure? Just then the sound
Of people approaching could be discerned till shortly a knot of men
Appeared about three tents away once they covered the the distance
Between them the group of eight stood quietly, then two of the eldest
Approached Jeremiah, they gave their nsmes as Ethan and Jesse
Jerimiah wasted no time in offering them the chance to visit the temple
Under his oversight, the whole group were most pleased and assured
Him they would be there just before next midday, at this Jeremiah turned
And made his way slowly back to the temple.'once there he sought out
The temple overseer one pashur.' With whom Jeremiah was always
Contending with.' However he beleived in this instance, he would get
Co operation.? In their meeting Jeremiah requested a room be made
Ready in a sumptous manner with six jars of strong temple wine and
Food for the midday guests if the morrow to come.' He noted the slightly
Confused look upon pashurs face..However it was agreed more to be
Done and The meeting was concluded.' The next morning Jeremiah lay
In his bed praying to the Lord from well before dawn.' Then as daybreak
Came he wen't out to feed and clean the small ammount of sheep and
Goats he kept for milk and produce." After ministering to his flock he
Returned to wash, snd study the scriotures of life as he thought of them
He made his way to a turret on the temple wall where there was often a
Cooling breeze to sit and immerse himself in Gods word.' After some time had passed and the sun was ascending one of the boys in service
Besought him to announce people wwre at the gate requesting his presence, he hurridly placed his papers in a box at hand and began his
Way down. Once at the gate he greeted the group, and was plesantly
Surprised by their joyful attitude, then veey soon he and pashur who had
Now arrived let them to the room prepared' once there and after they
Washed their feet, the meal commenced consisting mainly of dried fruits
And bread, after much talk aboout their usual way of life and so forth
Jerimiah arose from his seat; at this they all got up also' and watched as
He walked a short distance toward a dark red curtain
He wasted no time in pulling it aside, to reveal six earthenware jars
He turned and motioned to the visitors, the approached reverently here
Said Jeremiah are jars of strong red wine, we would like you to taste.'
Of it...He scrutinised the faces of Ethan and Jesse as he said these words
He was greeted with expressions of shock on both of them, he noticed
Them look at each other obviousley completely at a loss on how to respond? Well said Jerimiah?? You seem very quiet from a moment ago.'
Yes Jesse was first to answer I..I am honoured by this great opportunity
Yet we must decline.' Am i hearing correctly? Responded Jeremiah?
Feigening consternation..He put his staff of office in front of him and
Leaning on it gazed deeply into their eyes.' You have come here and eaten
Of the Lords fare..And drunk the water.. Yet you refuse the wine.? Well
Yes replied Jesse this time..My lords do not think us disrespectful yet
Our forefather made a promise to 'Him who cannot be named.' Never to
Drink strong wine..Its that simple really..At this Jeremiahs heart rejoiced
Within..And he embraced all of them saying (good and faithfull) I had
Heard such.' And you stayed true.!! At this he noted what looked like a
Dissatified look on pashurs face..' He said to the men we are so pleased
In fact at your obedience we will load eight donkeys with provisions for
Your familiys and send them before the Sabbath isn't that right Pashur.?
He got a strangled noise at this from the Temple overseer.' After this
All vacated the room to return to their own affairs, and Jeremiah knew
He had a message to deliver to the still rebellious people.!
