Grapevine
Everybody loves grapes,
Sweet and tender berries,
Ripening in the sun,
What a splendid sight,
Nourished from mother root,
Embedded deep under,
In darkness she feeds,
Something we never see,
Or even think about,
Working actively,
Keeping stable her plant,
Holding tightly to the ground
Balancing and stabilizing,
Absorbing and watering;
Branches drink,
Like milk from the breast
Warmth of the sun cradles
Flowering beauty blossoms,
Children suckle in gladness,
Maturing fruit rejoice,
Bringing forth,
Intoxicating abundance
Overflowing with wine.
