Fugazi Au - Fool's Gold Contest

Don't fall in love with a compulsive gambler Every vow made, every promise told is all fake It's fugazi, it's fool's gold Don't give your heart to a blackjack kamikaze He'll deal you nothing but empty words that are all fake, all fugazi A U, don't be a fool Why are you digging for gold with the wrong tool? Don't let fugazi orgasms make a fool out of you Don't ally yourself with a poker-face, casino card-carrying Nazi He'll burn you with his feckless ways --- just a fake dream sold It's all fugazi, it's all fool's gold A U, don't be a fool Stop building your hopes on a house of cards Don't let fugazi gold ropes make a fool out of you Don't let your life get tied down on the real bad side of town Only to find him walking around with his head in the chest of a woman with fake breasts Then you'll know that it was all fugazi: after the wedding bells toll, and you're given a band of fool's gold This poem was inspired by the talented poetess, Paloma P. She liked using the word "fugazi" in one of her poems I thought she made use of the word rather well "Fugazi Au" is being submitted to the Fool's Gold contest on 11/19/16

Ty Richard. I had a lot fun w/this one. Do you remember the classic soul song, "Band of Gold" by Freda Payne? She was a native Detroiter, and back in the day, her song was the #1 song in the country. 1970 or 71, I think. Anywho ... I hope I do well in the contest. Like I told Phil, it's my first, so we'll see what happens. Love the support, brother. Much love to you. RW
