For The Contest, "Swap It” (Swap Quatrain)
Sponsor, Andrea Dietrich

From two of us- we grew to five;
together, did our best to thrive.
The years flew by with little fuss;
we grew to five- from two of us.
Our three grew up, one at a time;
soon added spouses, all sublime!
Five grandkids came to fill our cup.
One at a time, our three grew up.
Grandkids matured- they added three
sweet great-granddaughters to our tree!
Such new-found joy we were assured;
they added three- grandkids matured.
One more surprise, we just were told
a great-grandson we soon will hold!
From two to twelve- new births comprise;
we just were told- one more surprise!
From twig to limb, to hold each hand-
a blessing from our tree so grand.
Pray we're still here- though time is grim-
to hold each hand- from twig to limb.
