From a Grateful Being-

I recollect the day I chose
to step into this world-
A world so cruel and ruthless,
Where even the light wanted to make me blind.
I was welcomed by faces unknown and weird
Helpless I was, there was nothing to do ,
so I cried, cried and cried..

Suddenly, I felt an arm approaching-
Worried and afraid, louder I wailed
That was when I heard a gentle voice , showering words so composed,
Enough it was to pacify my soul.

Then a realisation sprung to mind
on the touch , as soft as fleece
Comforted I was, on being assured to be
with the angel who was sent for me by Lord.
It was none other than you, Ma!

Lost in ecstasy of discovery , I was interrupted by your murmuring to me-
That moment, so joyful it was!
Your admiration for my cheeks chubby, nose buttony
And my being doe-eyed
All that still echoes in the core.

So many years on and still counting,
There is a lot more to mesmerise.
I will always love you more than you care for me,
Oh Ma! You and I will always be together...
