A place where family gather At a large dining-room table To eat a meal together Or to gather and make plans For the special occasion That are coming up quckly A dining-room table Also used to hem clothes To answer snail mail Sit and chat with friends Or just to read a book A place to create poetry

It is sad that the dining room table has become a thing of the past. More people have gone with TV trays in front of the TV.

I have mine piled so full nothing else will fit there, but when I was growing up, at my mom and Granny's homes the dining room table was always a wonderful place for all these things. God bless you
