Descent and ascent

Line of inquiry: “on an as is where is basis we choose descent of consciousness into the gross then we rise again following heart’s muse higher than where stood, bearing love’s cross”- unseeking seeker Few have been my conscious acts of very high or low. More have been the trials that have disrupted my joy’s flow. Some tribulations sent me reeling, feeling like I was in hell. More fortunate than some am I. And this I now know very well. The modern world lends comforts to which we feel entitled, while there are poor souls on this earth where horrors reign unbridled. My trials, mostly physical, I’ve managed to get through. Though life brings torments even now, with God’s gifts I can still make do. I thank the Lord that life has been mainly kind to me. No too-high mountains have I climbed. No monsters have I had to flee. From my ups and downs I’ve learned everyone – my sisters and my brothers - has woes to bear that I can’t know. We must have empathy for all others.

Dear Andrea, your tender verse rings with sincerity and truth. So true that "there are poor souls on this earth/where horrors reign unbridled." My heart breaks for them. Like you, I too, "thank the Lord that life has been/mainly kind to me." We are so fortunate to be so blessed. I adore your creative and heartfelt expression of the duality of descent and ascent. Congratulations for your success in Seeker's contest. Warmest wishes.. ~Susan

Absolutely we must have empathy for one another, however I think i am sinning right now for I don't like our neighbors, and I would by lying if i said that I 'Love thy neighbor as thyself'. Hope I am forgiven for this .when the time comes Hugs and blessings, Jennifer.

There is a TV crime show here called Fear Thy Neighbor. Always two families have disagreements that escalate into murder by one of the other. Let's pray you never become one of those stories. I know you won't. You are too kind hearted to let that happen. But wow the people in that series are crazy.

"From my ups and downs I’ve learned" - I learn this is the secret of the success of your poems as well. A beautiful work.

Dear Andrea, what an intricate journey of life, with all its trials and triumphs blended into a wonderful parable of wisdom. I loved your line: "From my ups and downs I’ve learned everyone – my sisters and my brothers – has woes to bear that I can’t know." This verse reflects the essence of empathy and shared humanity. Yes, we should embrace our experiences and extend compassion to others. Well inked and a Fav! Autumn Blessings, My Dear Friend, Daniel

Dear sweet andrea, my soul aunt, i know and feel everything youv expressed here in such an evocative manner, really it is soulful! Maybe it is because youv seen so much of the world and have overcome so gracefully while still enduring so much of life, is why you have a kind and open mind and you see what flows beneath things! The ending made me tear up! I think this will do well! I jusy posted mine too! And will email you sooon btw! Best wishes! Sending you light always ! Happy thanksgiving
