Deadspeak

I voyaged to the land of dead
And was gifted lasting peace,
Felt at home in a treasured yard
With tranquility on lease.

I now fathom life's ironies
And its prankish mystic touch,
Had I known this secret before
My life would have not been such.

Learnt not the art to love and share
But know it now that am dead,
Guess it would have been easier
If I lived backwards instead.

But now that I discern the truth
I would like to share it too,
The problem is men hear me not
In their worldly rendezvous.

I wonder why we act like herds
And behave like we are slaves?
Stay imprisoned in vanities
Until set free in our graves.

Thank you so much... dear Terry. So glad you liked the verses, happier still that you enjoy somber and morbid undertones. I do write a lot of 'Graveyard Stuff' with Elegies, Dirges and Laments being my favorite. You will find many like this one amongst my work. Thanks & Regards!
