Cupids Trick

Dreaming of a time
When I was yours
And you were mine

Subjecting the insignificant
With a futile fervor

Answer me & I’ll depart
Away from you
Into the dark

Walking through a bog of indecision
Lacking purpose, lacking vision

Never certain where the dice will land
Make believing I’m a man
Supposing destiny will lend a hand

I stumble into morrow
Where my heart knows only sorrow

Chasing fireflies
Across the river Styx

Searching for deliverance
From unrequited love
And Cupids tricks.
