Collaborating In the Clouds
When I was a child with childish ways,
I tried to find you in the sky.
When days were warm and clouds were few
I fancied I saw you there so high.
I spoke to you and you answered me.
My ears were so attuned to hear.
"I encourage you to dream your dreams
And promise to be always near."
Then I grew older and I thought more wise,
I, from my fancies turned away.
The world was new and enticing, Lord
And kept me busy every day.
I could no longer hear your voice,
I seldom looked at the summer sky.
For many years I doubted you,
Squandering the days as each went by.
Now that I am growing old,
I’m listening for your voice again.
"You know that I've been with you,Child,
Through all your joys and in your pain".
As summer spreads her fruits around
I look up to the bright, blue sky
And try to find your face again
In cumulus clouds floating so high.
