Booked a Flight

Called the agent
Booked a flight
Ticket sent me
  ~ late night flight

Packed my belongings
Two(!) free bulging bags
Public trans to the airport
  ~ just a buck trav'lin' stag...

On board ate a meal
Chicken-rice, drink 'n lettuce 
No debit or charge card
  ~ the meal was gratis  

"Sir, have a paper
 or relax with a book
 Watch the latest movie
  ~ Here, have a look..."

Time to deplane now
Flight's over so soon:
Air travel in the '70's
  ~ Silver Bird ... Silver Spoon!

I adore Ilene's poems and so glad you too are inspired by her wonderful words. Air travel has changed so so much and the low prices advertised seem tempting until you add on all the extras and then the costs escalate dramatically:-( hugs jan xx

Yes, I so enjoy Ilene's poems as well...As for air travel, tell me about it, Sister Jan: My family and I just flew Spirit roundtrip Chicago-New York. What a yuckifying experience, if that makes any sense... Thank you for your visits, for your support and kind words. It's always a special treat to hear from you! :) gw

Yes I too remember when the airlines really took care of you - now it's rush on, rush off, charge extra for every little thing - thanks for reminding us all how service should be!
