An Old Tree

The massive old man finger raises out of the ground, Wrinkles of age run up from the ground, Splitting into deltas, Forming rivers, That score crevices out of the skin, Previous arms grew out of core, Forming arteries and arterioles, From the mother arm, The arms bend slowly, Respectfully away from their mother, A dead daughter arm, Lives as a stump, Near her sisters, Damaged by weather, Then pulled to the ground as euthanasia, By human friends, The twig arterioles, Popular with leaves, Some making friends with birds, With the ground, Some adventuring into the air, Some stretching out to the sides, An respectful tree, A slow tree. An old tree.
