Photo # 1
A night of fright and mayhem after dark,
nightmare dreams, laughter, and screams get combined;
to a masked preteen, Halloween seems stark.
Jack-o-lanterns, ghoulish lanterns of light,
seem foolish, in evil's regime I find;
amidst the spooks and kooks prowling this night.
Bats and rats emerge from shifting shadows,
causing fear to surge through a young child’s mind
as Death draws breath from a murder of crows.
