A Heavenly Christmas List
An endearing Christmas list too precious to reserve
as a blessed season occasions its heartfelt deserve;
My older brother was the firstborn,
he was well-skilled, seemingly self-born,
a cunning net-throwing fisherman,
and patient cliff long pole fisherman,
a mollusk and seaweed collector,
and coastal spearfishing, crab-catcher,
avid animal and bird hunter.
He was a talented preparer,
like our Hawaiian predecessors,
millennial's tribal successors,
through our ancient cooking procedures,
these are the best placed of his features.
~~earned his wings at the age of 19...
He was the second oldest brother
and a diligent intercessor.
He was as constant as the day's star.
Harsh mid-life, led to a superstar,
as his latter days had grown much more
repose than he ever was before.
Happy to be his intercessor
for a change, once my predecessor
I treasured his well-earned enjoyment
of life finding his true contentment.
~~earned his wings at the age of 35...
Our youngest, the third of three sisters.
The last born of the household listers.
The particulars of a baby's
entitlements, my lords and ladies,
are not by the least--embellishments.
We shared our lives like the elements,
both the youngest and thus checking up
on one another. She took the cup--
"bread and honey," as Englishman says,
cared for her family, not from 'his',
a keepsake endured by each of them,
throughout and past her years as their ma'am.
~~earned her wings at the age of 42...
My older sister is the second
of three sisters, soundest I reckon.
She was the most serendipitous,
her firm instinct was precipitous,
made life phenomenally witty,
catching her posing, smiling pretty.
Her attraction was apparent and
a single lifestyle, knowing she can,
a need for herself--a good hubby.
A faithful wife, more like a buddy,
who together, adopted our niece
after our sister rested in peace.
~~earned her wings at the age of 58...
My older sister is the oldest
of three sisters, she is the boldest.
She was the most scholarly of us,
a dedicated woman--a plus.
One of distinction, first to us, then
on to her own family--amen,
and then to her career whenever
time had benefited endeavor.
Lastly, her numerous genuine
friends, age together like sparkling wine.
~~earned her wings at the age of 61...
Seasons pass to their calendrical
latest date outlined once and for all.
My Heavenly Christmas list was checked
once too, in the sight of my perfect
unwrapped mind, my Red-Ribboned heart, and
my glowing soul. Made a master-plan,
and took the picture of my siblings,
with my parents, tears dropping--ripplings.
It was an Annual Heavenly
Christmas Celebrating Family
~~reserve one. A hui hou kakou
'ohana (meaning; Family glow
again). A song in my heart sweetly,
as my wings earned, I'll ascend shortly.
