A Christmas Truth
As we celebrate this Christmas season with carols and parties galore, mixing elves and reindeer with Santa's North Pole chore, there is an evil truth behind this "Merry Christmas" lore. With mercenary minds each Christmas we neglect to knock on God's door. Satan allows us to believe that Santa's the one who travels the entire world with gifts, blessing everyone. So, we give our gifts with joy to our friends. What's the reason for Christmas? So Christ could die for our sins. Do we value God's gift of Eternal Life as much as we value Christmas cookies from our wife? Do we with difficulty try to feed the poor? Would we be uncomfortable if they knocked on our door? Each Christmas as we celebrate and drink our eggnog hearty, do we ever stop to remember God's death on the cross was not a party? Each day do we live our lives as if Christ never came? Each day do we dilute Christ's message in this "ho hum" Christmas game? Do we bow down in awe of Jesus, giving Him our deepest reward? Or, do we worship Santa Claus and Satan, forgetting to worship The Lord? Janet Marie Bingham
