Blessed Rain
How refreshing is the rush of rain on this melancholy, Monday morn! Pungent scents ruminate in the air creating a connection with nature a feeling of vibrancy, a cleansing. A fresh strumming of raindrops fall recklessly in fits and starts, I am alert to nature's sounds and dramatic sights. Moody clouds lighten and darken a daring drama unfolds in the skies as I watch inside my comfortable cocoon. Heaven sheds it's torrents of tears splashing ever downward, falling pounding rooftops, sputtering through gutters, flooding over sidewalks and streets. Watery rivulets stream down my window in crazy patterns, splattering the sill. Liquid rivers busily form from humble puddles flowing ever onward, swelling the ground with rainwater, a precious commodity. Rich rain, a wellspring of life, falls freely soaking into the thirsty ground, replenishing spreading it's wet richness to roots and plants, trees and flowers. A farmer's precious treasure is the rain and a blessing to every creature that moves and lives upon the earth beneath. Written on 2/19/2018
