Doomsday
DOOMSDAY The hottest button in the coldest war As the candle burns, from each end, aflame To prove his manhood, let the missiles soar As his muscles flex, he will claim his fame On highest alert, the eye in the sky Our satellite sees an approaching storm Responding in kind, the passing birds: fly The broadcast is out; the public is warned With two minutes left till midnight, they say To expect the worst, but casualties few Just hide from the blast and learn how to pray Yet, radiation, is sure to ensue The reign crashing down with thunderous roar Explosions of screams and panic out-pour Gas lines are broken causing fires to blaze Crumbling buildings; a dusty white haze I rise from my hide to see what I find Other than silence, destruction and death I walk for a mile with tears in my eyes My skin starts to bleed…. I lost my last breath…. DOOMSDAY! Contest: The Doomsday Clock, 2 Minutes Till Midnight Sponsor: Emile Pinet 2/13/2018
