Contend With Me
Contend with me while you can Contend with me and I will deliver the master plan Contend with me and I will make you smile We have been through worse than this And we have always rise up stronger with a mighty bliss Contend with me and you will have something on which to rely It has always been like this since the beginning of time Many people have missed the mark Because they are too busy to see the color in the sky Nothing has changed for decades This is a big masquerade People come and people go Playing the same shame game But I am here to tell you in God’s name I am not going to prematurely drop this trusted task You could huff and puff with fire in your gut I am here to finish what I start And in His name I will reach that powerful mark I am not in it for me but to save the nation from Future catastrophe One day you will look at me with a smile And said well done my child Nothing has changed but many things have changed I can walk more freely on the streets And greet the people wholeheartedly I can connect with my friends in the East And dance with minstrel when we feel the heat Nothing has changed but some things have changed Women are having decent fun While the rascals are still on the run Nothing has changed but some things have changed The road are wider, pockets are deeper Money is scarcer and people are wiser The common man in the streets Can use the latest technology While the so called developed countries are still trying to figure it out The common man did not go to school But he makes me and you look like a fool He knows how to start a business from scratch And work hard until he gets to the top He works night and day while you are gallivanting along the way Nothing has changed But many things have changed The moped and scooters have many owners Fancy cars are bubbling over The economy is in good shape But sanitation is struggling in beautiful places Young people are parading around the town With beautiful babies dancing around Some have not finished school They think it is cool to drop out of school And marry when they are young They are running their own business And paying their own mortgage I am impressed from outside in I just don’t know where to begin Their houses are bigger And their shopping carts are heavier And the long awaited dream is about to run over Life is getting sweeter and the poor is happier Nothing has changed but many things have changed Women are getting stronger The years are getting longer And minds are getting sharper Nothing has changed but some things have changed Dust is still flirting in the streets And the smell of urine circulates the air The hygiene is getting poorer The mind is stretching further and further Winter is disappearing and spring is here The tangerines are sweet And red lanterns lined the street Waiting for the New Year’s treat They scroll down the street In groups of threes latched on moped Rocking to the rhythmical beat Young married couples with children Licking their lollypop and smiling at me from the back Nothing has changed but some things have changed Slaughtered pigs stretched out on the back of their scooter With four feet dangling in air positioned to fight Hen riding on the back of mopeds calling out loud to the roosters Whose heads are wrapped with thread Board carts converted into three wheel trucks Elevating the poor man status and bringing him luck Nothing has changed But some things have changed I have walked down this road before I can tell it like it is This is not a joke When will we ever learn? You ask for coffee and I give you coffee You ask me for tea and I give you tea Why do get up every day predicting my destiny? If you continue to use your platform to mess me up I will go to Gods and make all of you sip the bitter cup Give me a break to breath fresh air Give me a break or I will rip your cantankerous reporters off the dried up air How about playing my role for a single day Would you have thought the same way? You would make the universe rumble and shake Get out of the studio and go in the street You will have an idea how the common man eat Their story is more precious than mine The world is watching you with three eyes You should be sharing their experience every single day So stop intimidate me and get out of my way Nothing has changed but some things have change Contend with me while you can Contend with me and face me if you can Contend with me and face me woman to woman and man to man Nothing has changed but some things have changed Contend with me fulfill the plan The latter will show no mercy but I will Give you glory Contend with me while you can Contend with me and deliver the plan Some things have changed The environment has changed But people’s mind remained the same Contend with me while you can Or you will face a more severe and dangerous one Nothing has changed But many things have changed!
