Cosmic Scare For the Homo Sapiens
COSMIC SCARE FOR THE HOMO SAPIENS The shooting star across the span of the night sky The blazing fiery trail of the burning meteorite Through the thick atmosphere many can’t fly Some fall causing craters of damage at impact site. From the asteroid belt beyond Mars they all surge Invade the innocent planets with cosmic velocity In chunks of the solar system mass small and large The deep craters record the impact’s brutal severity. Asteroid impact is not merely a thing of space fantasy The Cretaceous extinction and the Tunguska event Testify their tryst with the earth on the space odyssey History may repeat itself any day in the times present. Scientists tracking the deviant astral bodies’ course Spotted a huge one cruising toward the earth’s orbit When the chance of impact in real time inevitably rose They predicted the day and the time of the fated hit. Annihilation the looming catastrophic event would cause Would be so sudden unlike slow chaos of climate change On the doomsday clock the shocked time would pause The calamity would go beyond human perception range. The predicted day arrived on the doomed human race The clocks ticked menacingly to the zero hour of destiny The world at halt came to know a rocket started to chase The asteroid gone astray to thrust it out of earth’s gravity. Precise rocket science achieved the successful mission Averted the destruction by a terrestrial event so rare That could take the Homo sapiens to brink of extinction Life on the blue planet survived yet another mortal scare.
