Night Two At the Bar
she gave me tissue for the smeared makeup on my face yeah i cried that night and even during the day I cried for whatever reason I still went to the local bar hoping to watch a performance - not necessarily to perform the anxiety it drenched me, yet cleansed me it was scary moments later, I was taking the mic preparing to speak I caught the same theme twice I wondered whether or not God was talking to me again I was asked for a line that would 'make things easier' but this time it was a line with a twist the line had to hint towards betrayal and pain and growth the line had to be sweet but cunning the line had to be gentle but pierce the ears of whoever heard it a line i thought to myself and for whatever reason the crowd sat up in anticipation, waiting for me, the amateur i called the poem 'Carpentry' and i went on to say "I trusted the carpenter with the tasks of Carpentry, silly her, silly me" the crowd rumbled and I went on to say "you and I grew older sitting under this tree, remember when we carved our names in the bark - you fooled me"
