Loves Trial 4
The crowd attending the trial had exceeded the court room’s capacity. some individual were in the halls attempting to listen to the proceedings. Those who were invited, sat on the front rows. They included Philosophers, Poets, writers from all over the world. Oyez! Oyez! Oyez! All persons having business before the court. The Honorable, Lord Denning presiding. The accuser William Bacchus claims Love attempted to break into his heart to do harm with malice of aforethought. He is represented by Fear. The defendant Love waived her right to counsel and is representing herself. The judge’s white wig’s curls hung below his neck and his jet black robe rustled as he sat on his mahogany chair. He struck his gavel on his massive walnut desk saying, Fear has made various accusations. The court will now hear Love’s rebuttal to these charges. Love looked down at the room from the witness stand. Her blushing cheeks held a perpetual shade of pink-red while her big eyes seemed moist. She began where she had left off before the break saying, Your honor, Mr. Bacchus has found refuge behind Fear. If you look at his eyes, one can see the empty look as if someone has ripped his soul to pieces. The non-jurors sitting in front were aware of Fear’s frustration and his bad temper. The other spectators leaned forward hardly breathing. The ones outside, struggled for position. Some were telling those further back what was happening. The ones in the courtroom now turned their attention toward Love. Some of them felt the same way as the accuser. Their experience with men however, had not hurt them as bad as William. Love looked at the William, who still had his head bowed as if in prayer. She then turned and addressing the jurors she continued, All my efforts throughout time has been to spread Love. It has never been, and certainly not now to harm anyone. Mr. Bacchus is going through life without hope or salvation. He is suffering and is striking back, but not at Love, but at the woman who hurt him so deeply. Objection! Your honor. She is accusing me again and…. Silence! Fear. Let Love finish her explanation before you object. Objection overruled. You can now resume your questioning. There are a limited amount of passes to this trial. A few has been issued. As a poet, you will be next to your best poet. Come early please.
