My Name Is Ed
I've just tasted the politics of the land with the same tongue that yesterday chanted political slogans for a diseased bunch of shenanigans driving the political wagon with an expired license, I don't care if the first lady of Graceland, who fell short of God's grace in her political quest, gets a double bunk bed at Chikurubi maximum prison Who cares now, I've got the keys to the State house in my breast pocket Who cares what my two hands held before holding the president by the collar My left hand holds a black book of shared history yet still the right hand holds the keys to the State house, With a motorcade of my own destined towards where the people's wishes lie My name is E.D the prescribed medicine to the political madness of black barbaric bastards baptized in the black blood of their unsuspecting brothers, a black barbarian bespectacled brother on the same list as Banana brooding brutality, corruption and enmity in the streets Hey, my name is E.D I'm the new face of the same old revolutionary party they say i am to lead a highly educated nation of citizens who graduated with a Masters degree in corruption during the black out Pardon me fellow countrymen, i did not come to play the Zuma game I have a new motto where the shenanigans wants me to write the old party slogan I owe you all for the 18 November toi-toi which birthed this new political dispensation Sorry i owe the General a joy ride for starting up the engine, I owe the youths the promised jobs before they could cast an x on the ballot paper I hear they say i owe the paparazzi camera just a smile i owe the ZEC officials a thorough talking to before they get to spoil the meal If i can trust you with a little secret I owe myself a visit to the Chiadzwa mining fields to take a closer look at the glittering diamonds I've always watched from a distance Keep your fingers crossed I'm here to heal the wounds my fellow Comrades inflicted upon the national face Hey, my name is E.D I've just tasted the politics of the land I owe my loyalty to the constitution of Zimbabwe, So help me God... Loyalty? ...i remember that word, Loyalty..... Ummmm, i guess that's just where the poem should end
