Winter Blues
HOW TO ADVOID THE WINTER BLUES ~~~~~~~~~~~~~ a glorious sunny winters day! so baltic cold indoors I stay. on my south facing living room wall a lively midday Chrismas ball shadows dancing in the sun, my ivy leaves all having fun. a shadow also announcing an arrival, a robin redbreast fighting for survival. cowardly sparrows finding pluck, into the birdseed they did tuck, their shadows jumping up and down until a hen blackbird came to town. then a big shadow came to feed, a woodpigeon to sate its need. its shadow danced, well just its head. cleared the table, for sure well-fed. time flew by, feeding nigh all done no more shadows but still some fun. mainly sparrows now, a last chance to boost their central heating before they go to roost. a touch of cloud, an orange setting sun the shadow show until the morrow, done. warm, sat indoors, no winter cold, it so mean, but suffering winter blues, for outside I should of been! ~~~~~~~~~~~ Entered in the poetry contest 'WINTER BLUES' sponsored by Laura Loo Saturday, 6th January 2018.
