Heavenly Night
Heavenly Night For contest. I prayed when I was younger to know this thing called bliss. Not knowing what I asked for was a heavenly night like this. It’s funny how it seems to me the night I can’t forget. The night I held you in my arms, the night we never met. It seemed we talked for hours. I was caught up in your charms. Certain that my heart would break, if not held in your arms. The candle lights were glowing, love is not a game. I thank God for the knowing on that night you felt the same. At last a life of dreams came true, my hands were in your hair. Our bodies locked together, the passion we would share. The light the night cast on us, as we lay looking at the moon. How was I to understand it would be over much too soon. Rising just to wash my face I turned some music on. Returning from another room I found that you were gone. I may never get to heaven but Ive come to finally see. On the night I held you tight, heaven came to me. The night I found a treasure. I found my greatest shame. The closest I came to heaven I forgot to get your name.
