Altered perceptions filtering through your mind drip ... drip ... drip Faulty neural connections causes a skewered point-of-view Fatalistic, telescopic lens in which you now see the world through Everything not right like it should be, nothing observed is as it will be One day the blind will see, and those who say they see will walk darkly Various standards of living are sold at fluctuating premiums While your security insulation keeps getting stripped ... stripped ... stripped Poured all of your life savings into a shredded government safety net As the spouse of your youth rakes your heart with sharp barbs of regret Everything seems to be shifting, nothing remains solid and clear One day the deaf will hear, and those who say they hear will be given wax-filled ears Then, in the dwindling dawn of your utter despair, a mysterious stranger appears Telling you there comes a brighter day, but you first need to earnestly pray Which god will you appeal unto, to get your message in a bottle of tears sent to And as the man in the black sackcloth walks away, his trailing last words you hear him say: All of mankind live in God-forsaken nations, so it’s best to keep wise, nascent observations
