The Chronicle of Life
Awake! Awake! said the morning clock, Get ready and straighten your locks Then came the chauffer knock knock knock Who in a hurry dropped me down the block. Seeing the scorching sun in the sky, I never wanted to wish my bed goodbye. Moving my attention towards the crowd passing by, I realised that this was the case in each ones life. As I was thinking about the chronicles of life, There passed a girl dressed in white. Her brown hair was beautifully swaying from side to side And her eyes were shining bright in the sunlight. I was looking at her consistently, Her eyes caught my eyes instantly. The light of her eyes was attracting me, But maybe for her my constant stare was distracting. Glaring at her I walked into a pole, And when I gathered myself and stood up whole, My eyes couldn't find her and my heart went cold. All that I could think of was that I missed my goal. Even now I wish I could again see her face, See her walking down to me in grace, The thought of her makes my heart race, All I still do for my heart is to wait. Awake! Awake! Again said the morning clock, Move on and straighten your heart locks. There will come a girl knock knock knock, Who will carry you through all the life blocks.
