Crossroads
Crossroads. Two roads diverged in a yellow wood. But this time, there is no happy ending. Only darkness and empty promises. I begged you not to. Told you it would only end in suffering. Asked you to turn back so you couldn’t cause me pain. But you did what you wanted. And now here we are. Staring into darkness. Wondering what the future holds. And hoping that you make the best decision. All those days when you were by my side. Thrown out the window without a second thought. Shaky hands. Uncertain feet. Twisting heart. What will it be? I already know we all get hurt at the end of this. So make it quick. Make it painless. Give up on me. This is the last place I want to be. Stuck at a crossroads with two empty promises: you never leave or you’ll always love me.
