Winter Hold
November on the calendar, on the edge of a north east winter that teeters on the horizon. The year's months raced by and January dreams slipped away to February as March winds began to blow. Too quick, April rains deluged all the flowers of May's late spring and June blushed in the warm. Summer heat of early July and August never could find their way and the ocean tides stayed chilled and cold. Time was lagging with the softened residue of spring refusing to let go. Brief moments slipped to shortened days and summer slid into mid September to fade and disappear and return in October. A pale but yellowed harvest moon glowed brilliant white fringed in haloed reflecting light. Each season had no ownership, no set display of ususal descriprion as spring continued to linger and hold tight. But here it comes at last, winter creeping in, unseen, barely noticed and suddenly grips to take in November. December waits, hiding in the shadows low and dark and cold waiting patient for its turn and hold.
