The Blind
"How I became blind" I heard the cock crow so i had to open my eyes, but everything was black instead of white i found it hard to realise why everywhere looked dark instead of bright so I held on to the nearest object to rise and called my mum to asked if she had turned off the light, but she didn't answer.so I decided to move out of the room coz it might be brighter out there...i and my mum badged into each other at the door step, I couldn't see my mum but only felt her hands with mine. My mum asked me why am staring at her in a weird way, I tried to open my eyes wider maybe I will see her this time around but still couldn't see her, I only heard her voice and felt her touches on my shoulder...for a moment I realized what was happening to me but I didn't want to accept the fact...... My mum started crying out loud,i asked her why she was crying and she said "MY SON,YOU ARE BLIND" *AND THAT'S HOW I BECAME BLIND. *THAT'S HOW I LOST MY SIGHT. *THAT'S HOW I STOPPED SEEING THE BEAUTIFUL AND ATTRACTIVE THINGS YOU ARE SEEING. I was inspired to write this few words after seeing a blind kid with his mum begging me for money. Poet: Isaac Kofi Asante Dablaker Email: isaackofikofi@gmail.com
