Pen Dependence
There’s no other option Opting in with an opinion and undivided attention Forgot to mention how fast these walls are closing in without this pen Allowing thoughts to thin Forming stories with an intoxicating grin Intoxicated by every thought that has ever sunk Into the mind of mine Then I decide to write Anticipation of this becoming my life A gift that would arise after I die In hind-sight, I’d take a blind bite And gladly die twice For I love to write Words form a dialect to resurrect a certain effect that was shown neglect Performing my best It isn’t good enough yet The best is yet to come Succumb to the deepest secrets Creating a certain sequence Hold this pen high Spawning into your beacon Let it sink in When you stop thinking, There’s no longer ink in the pen for the message you intended to send But don’t give in to the thought of never performing your art again Because then, they’ll see that the next of kin could pick up the pen Just as she inspired me
