Child's Play
I get bored easily watching the other kids play. I don’t know why recess, for me, is no longer fun. Hopefully, we’ll learn something interesting today. I get so tired of being out here in the heat of the sun. Actually, wait… no… yes. She’s wearing pink panties. I love the swings at lunchtime recess. I’m not bored anymore. Christy Miller… I wonder if she knows my name. Probably not. I’m really boring. When I hold the door for her, she says, “Hi, Johnny.” Suddenly, the bus ride in the morning has meaning. I feel like it’s a trip to my everyday destiny. Today, I’ll see if she’ll help me with my finger painting. It was the beginning of a lifelong partnership. I’ll never forget that summer day, how it all started. We were the best of friends, through good times and hardships. It still makes her laugh, to think back in class, when I farted.
