Battle of Divorce Part Ii
I feel like I lost my essence, and lost the reason to be. That cold February night that the wife walked out on me. I try to pull out of self-pity, I've never been one for loathing. I turn into a giant amongst ants, I'm a volcano exploding. The ex-wife spewing manifestations of her own mind. Trying to reconcile faults, accountability that she can't find. She can't face what she's done, she don't even know why. She tells people one thing, but her heart casts truth on her lies. She finds blame in me for her leaving, something I can't explain. Exaggerated stories around our seed, and cursing my name. Clinch my fist and my teeth trying to keep tight lips. It's hard not to holler back at her and remain righteous. Either in public or private, I'll never do it around our child. How can a woman allow her baby to witness such vile? Worst of all is that she sees this coming out of you. Now she has the notion it's an acceptable thing to do. It's sad enough to see that we gave her a broken home. So now you give her the tools that'll make her live life alone. It's welcome to the deep end, go ahead and jump in. Of course she will sink if we haven't taught her how to swim. I guess I'll be the philosophical dad and prophetic mom. Then a few years explain to her why mommy is gone. We all see the path you're walking, same as your past. Going crazy trying to keep us together, how long can I last. Before a sorrowful goodbye, and I move away from here. Where my baby can be happy, and I can smile with cheer. A life where I can proceed with getting back to being me. No more heartburn from stress, no tears and I can see. Family get togethers whenever it doesn't rain outside. I can heal baby's heart from when you tore it down to size. She'll be with her sisters and reconnect with her brother. Learn the memories of her granddad and her grandmother. A place where we can have the stability a family needs. With Sunday services listening to the pastor preach Summer fun in the sun we'll be swimming in lakes Birthday cheer from ear to ear cutting birthday cakes. With the only wish that we could've kept it like this Mommy and daddy getting along for the sake of the kids Putting aside our differences even if for a little while. Why we can't leave history in the past and redial I know it's on us both not to bring it back to our child Putting pieces together like a mosaic with broken Tiles.
