Tomb of the Unknown Poet
Okay, Jerry, so I am posting this on PS in your honor A response to Jerry T Curtis. A great idea, perhaps, to leave spot 100 open, as if every poet owns it ;) This poem thrown quickly together, just for fun. TOMB OF THE UNKNOWN POET Buried at the bottom with the brine Lies the poet who excelled at all the rhymes His name kicked away from the ninety-nine Indeed he was quite sublime Would have made the list but for the error So what’s his (her) name must be honored The guards dart back and forth, with silent words Protection of the deft entry to the Tomb of the Unknown Poet If we’d have read of him or her, we’d have an aha moment You should have seen the ceremony A kiss of roses, vellum ashes Fit for a king or queen A poem that lives on and on through history Kim Rodrigues (c) 10/22/2017
