She's One To Be Proud Of
It’s so hard to believe, now that she’s grown, No longer the little girl in pigtails that I use to pick on, That she has a husband and a family of her own, With twenty-eight years of memories all but gone. I still think of her as a child every now and then, Amazed at how she grew up and matured so fast. I don’t remember much anymore, but I know I will again, Because, so see who we are today, we must look at our past. Sometimes I wonder if she remembers the same things I do, And, if so, do her thoughts make her smile or frown? I know our memories come from a different point of view. For me, it was a good thing, growing up in our small town. She’s impressed me over the last few years, more than others, Since she has been raising two kids and been in some jams. It’s so incredible to watch her in action as a young mother. One of these days, I need to tell her how proud of her I am. I know that I haven’t told her enough how much that I love her, But I suppose that’s just the way that things go over the years. I hope she knows how much I enjoy having her for a sister, And I would do anything for her, no matter the sacrifice or fears.
